You're Invited: Briefing on Exploring Democracy Vouchers Reform in LA on 12/1
On Friday, December 1st at 1PM PT, Los Angeles for Democracy Vouchers is co-hosting a virtual community briefing on the topic of Exploring Democracy Vouchers Reform in Los Angeles. The briefing will give an update on the City's exploration into the feasibility of establishing a Democracy Voucher program, including options for full public financing, as well as share the results of Los Angeles for Democracy Vouchers’ latest research, derived from conversations with members of the community, that outline possible options that the City could take to make Los Angeles city elections open to all—not just the wealthy and well-connected.
Join us as we speak with Councilmember Nithya Raman (Lead Co-Sponsor, Motion to Study Democracy Vouchers), Trent Lange (President, California Clean Money Campaign), and Tom Latkowski (Co-Lead, Los Angeles for Democracy Vouchers) to explore how Los Angeles can expand its campaign finance system to include all Angelenos. This event is being co-hosted by California Clean Money Campaign, LA Forward, League of Women Voters of Greater Los Angeles, Los Angeles for Democracy Vouchers, the Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance, and UnrigLA.
The briefing will be one-hour long, featuring Q&A with the audience, and will be open to all community and municipal leaders, legislative staff, students, and journalists. If you are unable to make the event, feel free to RSVP or send a team member or friend to the session—and we’ll ensure that you receive a recording of the event.
Hope to see you on the 1st!
